Race Equality?

"Applicants for all vacancies within the Council will be monitored by race at each stage of the recruitment procedure".

How does this ensure "equality"? The council has a tick list with all application forms asking for the applicant to state their race and skin colour. I believe this is tantamount to race discrimination, success with an application should not depend on what box you tick to say what colour you are, it should depend on your ability to do the job in question.

In some cases, being white will disqualify you from a job straight away. More and more places employ a policy of "positive discrimination", meaning that white people will be prevented from progressing with an application, no matter how well suited to the job they are, in favour of "minority ethnic" applicants.

This is disgraceful and blatantly racist. If it was the other way round it would be illegal.
